The Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry has prepared a draft Act to replace the University Grants Commission with a new regulator for higher education in the country in an effort to improve academic standards and crack down on bogus institutions, as per the draft released by the ministry on Wednesday. DUTA withdraws evaluation boycott after over a month of protest

The Delhi University teachers’ association (DUTA) on Monday decided to withdraw the evaluation boycott after over a month of protest. Freshers in all universities to undergo induction programmes in line with IITs

Freshers joining universities across the country will undergo an induction programme similar to one followed by IITs, according to the UGC Quality Mandate issued on Monday.
