The Madras High Court on Friday issued notice to the Medical Council of India and Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research on a plea seeking a direction to the institute not to allot seats reserved for ‘Puducherry Scheduled Community’ (P-SC) to non-Puducherry SC students. JIPMER to open branch in Karaikal, Puducherry CM says

The centrally-sponsored premier health institute JIPMER would set up its branch in Karaikal and the Union territory government has earmarked 80 acres of land for it, chief minister N Rangasamy said on Wednesday.
