NEET result 2018: Bhopal’s Shabista Khan gets all-India rank 29

Students come out after appearing for the NEET exam.

Shabista Khan’s belief in herself and hard work helped her get the all-India rank 29 in NEET 2018, the result of which was declared on Monday by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

The 18-year-old from Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal studied for 15 to16 hours every day during NEET 2018 and kept away from social media.

“My parents and teachers inspired me. Durrani Sir helped me a lot with his constant guidance,” she said.

Shabista scored 671 out of 720 got 161 marks out of 180 in physics, 165 in chemistry and 345 out of 360 in biology, which combined botany and zoology in NEET result 2018, the examination held to select students for undergraduate medical and dental courses across the country.

“I am proud of her achievements. I was thinking that she would be in the top 100 but she got a better rank. She has made me a proud father of a talented daughter,” her businessman father MI Khan said.

“She studies hard all the time. I knew she would achieve a great success. I am really proud of her,” her mother Tahira Khan, who is a homemaker, said.

Shabista said she likes to play table tennis and ride horses during her spare time.

“She deserved this. She would have made to the merit list irrespective of her study in any coaching institute. I am fortunate that she came to study at my coaching institute and brought laurels to my institute,” Shahab Durrani of DS Classes said.

Sankalpa Keshari, also from Bhopal, secured the all-India Rank of 43 in the exam.

Kalpana Kumari from Bihar bagged the all-India rank 1 with a percentile of 99.99 in NEET result 2018. Rohan Purohit from Telangana and Delhi’s Himanshu Sharma stood second and third in NEET 2018.

The board’s data showed out of over 12.69 lakh students, who appeared for the exam across the country, 7.14 lakh have qualified for admissions to 66,000 seats in medical and dental courses across the country.

The highest number of students who cleared NEET 2018 are from Uttar Pradesh, where 76,778 candidates qualified, followed by Kerala at 72,682 and 70,184 aspirants from Maharashtra.
